Hello and welcome to my blog!
I will start by introducing myself: I am Charlotte, I am 16 years old and me and my sister are proud owners of our Sprocker Spaniel, Maximus, but Max for short. You might know Max from instagram: @dappermaximus where I like to share his adventures from his point of view. The account is growing fast as people fall in love with his dapper hairdo! I’ve always had a passion for taking photos, I believe that in order to get the perfect photo you have to take hundreds, if you get what I mean? Each photo is unique, it has its own story behind it and that is what I love most.
Maximus, as I previously mentioned, is an 11 month old Sprocker Spaniel. I’ve always loved spaniels but my parents always were put off with getting another dog, particularly a high energy dog like a spaniel. However, after many months of persuading, my sister and I finally managed to convince them and thats when Max came into the picture. He has been a great addition to our family and we would never go back. Importantly, he gets along well with our 11 year old West Highland Terrier, Oscar, who will be featured regularly on this blog alongside Max.
Since owning him we have taught him a a wide range of tricks that he loves to show off. So far he knows, ‘sit’, ‘lie down’, ‘rollover’, ‘spin’, ‘paw’, ‘other paw’, ‘speak’, ‘wait’, ‘hold it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘rest head’. At the moment we are also teaching him ‘weave’ and ‘play dead’. We are also trying to get him to listen to ‘drop it’. He is learning these very quickly.
Maximus loves to learn and will do anything he can to please us. While he does have his spoilt, diva dog moments, he does us proud and is a star in front of the camera. This makes him a great little model. We have already worked with many small companies to model their products and to advertise their brand. He will hold anything in his mouth that we tell tell him to and listens to his commands to perform well.
He is very handsome too…
Maximus is walked twice a day, in the morning and afternoon. It is important when looking into getting a dog like a Spaniel to consider factors like exercise: Can you walk them regularly? Do you have enough free time to go on long walks? Do you mind dedicating some of your free time for these long walks? My sister and I made sure we considered this when convincing our parents to get a spaniel and have stuck to our words ever since Max came home. You may think that after a tiring day the last thing you want to do is go on a long walk, however once you’ve set off into the fresh air it can be very relaxing… we love our adventures together.
I hope you enjoy following Max’s pawprints…
